West Terminal Shuttle Facility – Sitework & Earthwork by Comstock Construction
Comprehensive Site Preparation & Earthwork
Comstock Construction successfully completed the site preparation and earthwork for a new grain handling facility and rail loop track, ensuring a stable foundation for this critical agricultural infrastructure. Our civil construction team executed extensive grading, excavation, and soil correction to prepare the site for long-term durability and heavy-load capacity.
Mass Excavation, Grading & Soil Correction
The project involved moving and placing over 100,000 cubic yards of soil, including mass excavation, cut-and-fill operations, and engineered soil stabilization to achieve optimal compaction. We addressed poor subgrade conditions through strategic soil correction techniques, ensuring proper load-bearing support for future structures and rail operations.
Aggregate Placement & Site Development
As part of our site development services, we performed precision grading operations to establish proper drainage and surface elevation, mitigating the risk of erosion and water accumulation. Our team also placed high-quality aggregate materials for roadways, storage areas, and foundation bases, optimizing soil compaction and long-term performance.
Culvert Installation & Stormwater Management
To support site drainage and stormwater management, we installed multiple culvert systems, including reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) and corrugated metal pipe (CMP), ensuring efficient water flow and site sustainability. Throughout the project, we maintained strict compliance with earthwork specifications, ensuring alignment with industry standards and engineering requirements.
Expertise in Heavy Civil Construction & Dirtwork
Comstock Construction’s expertise in dirtwork, site grading, and heavy civil construction enabled us to deliver a stable, high-performance site ready for grain storage, processing, and transportation. Our team’s commitment to quality and efficiency ensures that large-scale industrial and agricultural projects like this are built on a solid foundation, ready for long-term operation.
