Project Description

Turtle Mountain Community College Vo-Tech Building – Investing in the Trades

In 2008, Comstock Construction completed the 14,000 SF Vo-Tech Building on the Turtle Mountain Community College campus in Belcourt, ND, designed by SHP Engineering and Architecture. This pre-engineered metal building was built to support vocational and technical education programs, providing hands-on training for students pursuing careers in the skilled trades.

Purpose-Built for Hands-On Learning

The Vo-Tech Building was designed to equip students with real-world experience in various trade industries. The facility includes:

  • A fully equipped construction shop for carpentry and building trades
  • An auto body shop to develop vehicle repair and refinishing skills
  • Two modern classrooms for technical instruction and coursework
  • Locker rooms and restrooms for student convenience
  • Office space for instructors and administrative support

The Importance of Vocational and Technical Education

Vo-Tech programs play a critical role in addressing the skilled labor shortage by preparing students for high-demand careers in construction, automotive repair, manufacturing, and other trade industries. These programs provide an alternative to traditional four-year college degrees, offering direct pathways to stable, well-paying jobs that are vital to the economy.

At Comstock Construction, we have a deep appreciation for vocational training because skilled trades are the backbone of our industry. As a company committed to building communities, we understand the importance of investing in the next generation of builders, mechanics, and craftsmen.

Strengthening the Workforce, Strengthening Communities

By constructing this facility, Comstock Construction has helped empower students with the tools and resources they need to succeed in the trades. We take pride in projects like this because they support workforce development, strengthen local economies, and ensure the future of industries like ours.

This project is a testament to the importance of hands-on education, and we are honored to have been part of building a space where students can learn, grow, and master their craft.
