In 2014, Comstock Construction partnered with Walmart Realty and architect Shad L. O’Quinn to construct a 143,000 SF Sam’s Club in Moorhead, MN. This large-scale masonry retail project included a fueling station and extensive site development, providing the community with a state-of-the-art shopping destination.
Project Scope & Construction Details
New Retail Construction – Moorhead, MN
The new Sam’s Club facility was designed to support high-volume retail operations with specialized service areas, including:
- Main sales floor & grocery areas for bulk retail shopping.
- Vision center & pharmacy to provide healthcare services.
- Photo lab & tire and battery center for customer convenience.
- Snack bar & support spaces to enhance the shopping experience.
- A new fueling station to add convenience for members.
The project required extensive site work, including parking lot development, utility installation, and traffic flow improvements to accommodate high customer volume.
Extensive Remodel – Fargo, ND
In addition to the ground-up construction in Moorhead, Comstock Construction completed a major remodel at the Sam’s Club location in Fargo, ND. This renovation improved layout efficiency, upgraded finishes, and enhanced customer experience, ensuring the facility remained competitive in the evolving retail market.
