Bute Alumni Stadium Locker Room Facilities – NDSCS, Wahpeton, ND
In 2015, Comstock Construction completed the 7,721 SF locker room facility renovation at Earl “Skip” Bute Alumni Stadium on the North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) campus in Wahpeton, ND. This project modernized athletic facilities, improved fan amenities, and enhanced game-day operations for the Wildcats football program.
Modernized Athletic Facilities & Fan Experience
The renovation included the construction of two new buildings and a separate ticket booth designed to resemble the historic Old Main steeple, maintaining the architectural identity of the NDSCS campus. Key improvements included:
- Wildcat Locker Room Facility – Featuring locker rooms, showers, toilets, an equipment room, a coaches’ office, and a training room.
- Visitor Locker Room – A dedicated space for visiting teams
- “Catbacker” Room – a gathering place for NDSCS alumni and fans
- Updated Public Restrooms – Enhanced facilities to accommodate larger crowds.
- Expanded Concession Area – Improved layout for better service and efficiency.
- New Ticket Booth – Designed to complement NDSCS’s historic architecture.
Enhancing Game-Day Operations & Athletic Training
This $1.5 million stadium renovation also incorporated:
- A new retail outlet for the NDSCS Bookstore.
- Renovated training rooms and equipment storage for athlete preparation and recovery.
- Upgraded water and sewer systems for improved infrastructure.
- New concrete surfaces for better stadium accessibility.
