Project Description

American Crystal Sugar – New 11,000 SF Office Building

Comstock Construction proudly completed the new, state-of-the-art 11,000-square-foot office building for American Crystal Sugar Company, replacing their original 1948 facility. Designed locally by EAPC Architects and Engineers to meet the evolving needs of a modern workforce, this commercial office build seamlessly blends functionality, aesthetics, and efficiency, providing an inviting and highly functional workspace for employees and visitors alike.

Welcoming Entry & Custom Design Features

Upon entering the new office, visitors are greeted by a striking reclaimed wood accent wall, custom-built by Dakota Timber Company. This feature is enhanced by the original metal “American Crystal Sugar Company” sign, preserved from the historic building, paying homage to the company’s rich heritage while incorporating a modern industrial aesthetic.

Flexible Meeting & Training Spaces

The building includes a spacious conference room, enhanced with a dropped ceiling with a color-changeable LED accent lighting, and a minibar refreshment area, creating a dynamic and professional setting for meetings. And another large, adaptable training room is designed to accommodate various meeting styles, with TV monitors throughout, movable partitions that can section off breakout rooms and modular furniture for flexible seating arrangements.

A dedicated workroom equipped with a high-capacity printer/copier and office supplies

To optimize workspace functionality, the building’s second-floor mezzanine is dedicated entirely to mechanical systems, keeping all office areas on the main floor for easy accessibility and enhanced efficiency. This design maximizes usable office space while maintaining seamless building operations.
