Reaching 100 years in business is a milestone few companies achieve—only about 3% make it to this centennial mark. To celebrate this incredible achievement, Comstock Construction hosted a rebar cutting celebration at their Fargo office on July 17th, 2024. Unlike the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremonies often seen at business anniversaries, Comstock Construction opted for a more fitting, construction-themed approach: cutting a piece of rebar to mark the occasion.
The event was held in collaboration with the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Area Chamber of Commerce, bringing together Chamber representatives, company leadership, and community members to recognize Comstock Construction’s century-long legacy. Michael Comstock, fourth-generation owner, kicked off the celebration by sharing a brief history of the company, highlighting its growth from humble beginnings straightening barns to a respected commercial construction leader in the region. Following his remarks, he opened the floor for questions, giving attendees a chance to learn more about the company’s journey and future direction.
The highlight of the event was the rebar cutting celebration, where Michael cut through a green spray-painted piece of rebar—a symbol of strength, durability, and the solid foundation Comstock Construction has built over the past century. This unique moment captured the essence of the company’s identity, reinforcing its deep roots in construction and its unwavering commitment to quality craftsmanship.
After the ceremonial cutting, a representative from the Chamber of Commerce presented Michael with a plaque to commemorate the company’s 100-year milestone. Attendees then enjoyed light refreshments while mingling and sharing stories about the company’s impact on the region.
The rebar cutting celebration was a perfect way to honor Comstock Construction’s rich history and bright future. As they step into their second century, the company remains dedicated to excellence, community, and innovation in the construction industry.
